Send Me a Butterfly

Even in absence,

Your presence,

It follows me.

But send me a sign…something I can see

So I know that you’re alright,

So I know that you’ll never leave…that you are here beside me.

Send me a butterfly

I don’t know my reasoning, I couldn’t tell you why,

I guess it will show me that you’re doing just fine.

Perhaps a last gift or a “love you, goodbye.”

Is it nice there in Heaven?

Can your spirit fly free?

Send me that butterfly, a piece of your Heaven for me to see.

I miss you, but I bet that you knew

Because I must have told you in our chats at night

But it’s not the same without you.

So send me a butterfly

I don’t know why

But in this gift…and deep in me…

Your spirit and love will never die,

If you send me a butterfly.
