Quidam's View

Soap Box Preacher

by Colleen Barry
Written 10-27-05

He spouts off obscenities, he criticizes all,

His tongue drips with hate, he is bound to fall.

With opinions so strong, he beats down the masses,

He catches them off guard on their way to their classes.

Why does he hate them and scold them so?

Someone will shoot him down one day…

Someone will cause him to yield and obey.

He’ll run out of pleasure for his gun,

He’ll run out of words to mock others for fun.

One day he will be silenced and another will rise,

Because he’ll pass on his hatred and outward cries

Of disdain and dislike for others.
