Strange Connection

by Colleen Barry
Written 11-05-05

He watches over me,

I wonder if he really cares or is just humanely kind…

I wonder if I am the end to his connection,

Or if maybe,

Just maybe,

I am only swept away by his nature.

We talk for hours on end,

Cover our subjects from A-Z,

Are we just what the other is looking for?

Or am I only kidding myself?

I know there is something behind his smile,

I sense a connection behind his eyes.

If only I could listen…

We’ve both been hurt,

Both been in love,

But neither of the two has ended where we wished.

We try again…

Hold tight to our dreams…

And hope that the next line we cast will prove prosperous.

But don’t mess it up now.

Don’t push or pull too forcibly.

Let it fall into place.

For once, don’t be the instigator,

Sit back,

Sit tight and let it come to you.

Allow things to work out as God wishes…

For once, let your heart do the work,

Instead of your hands.
