Colored Days

Dedicated to Nicholas Cooley

Troubled dear?

I’ll hold you near,

And whisper nothings in your ear;

And tell you stories long and true

To wipe away your shade of blue.

For in my arms you will be,

Safe and warm and worry free.

And count the days till that shade of blue

Turns into a lesser hue

Of golden yellow as the sun,

When things return to times of fun.

And laugh now dear as the day is done

And the stars come out

And the sun does run.

Behind the cover of the moon,

My love still shines, my love still looms…

My love still lingers here for you.

I’ll not be far in heart or spirit;

Just a physical distance, Nicholas, dearest.

But just look at the moon and you shall view

The same lovely image that I see too.
