Paper Cranes

Paper cranes for good luck

Have brought me no such thing.

 

Each crease to hold a fortune

Well I guess I’m folding them wrong.

 

They don’t take flight

Their wings don’t flap

And the breeze doesn’t carry.

 

And like the stray thread…

Pulling rips the seam out.

 

Too much force will crumple the paper

But too little and no difference;

No fold is made.
