I will not drown in shallow water
Because I’ve come too far this
time to falter.
Instead I’ll lie before this altar
Hoping… praying I will float.
I will not fall if there is wind to carry
And all my faults, I will bury
Leaving behind the woes of wary
Allowing me to walk.
I’ll call on grace when lost and
battered
Reaching out, broken and shattered
But standing on my own two feet
Coming to my resting place…
… Your arms… my retreat.
