Dr. Pepper

by Colleen Barry
Written 08-03-05

She drinks Dr. Pepper at midnight,

Hoping it won't end her life...

Praying she doesn't fall asleep,

Caffeine to keep her dream.

‘Cause if she dozes,

Wilt her roses,

Kill the midday buzz,

And she’s alone, again...

With no one left to trust.

She’ll be alone, just like before,

Damn lonely girl, attention whore.

But sipping slowly on brown sugar,

Will keep her dream alive.
