Quidam's View

Eighteen

Your eighteenth year is finally here,

You’re not a kid anymore.

And I have some things to tell you that

I haven’t said before.

The sincerest of friends

You have been to me,

Since we were a youthful nine,

And looking back now I can see,

Those youthful years were truly sublime.

From giggling girls to debutant curls,

You’ve been transformed by time.

But as old as I get,

I will never forget,

You...dearest friend of mine.
